Founded in August 2021, the Plymouth Dolphins RFC is Plymouth’s first inclusive gay rugby team.
Many of the LGBTQ+ community were alienated by sport at a young age and many of the team’s members have come back to sport later in life, finding that it can be enjoyable after all.
Wecloming anyone to join the team, regardless of experience, ability, age, ethnicity, religion, sexuality or gender identity, the Dolphins are determined for the club to develop, and to be a positive impact in the local community, encouraging people to take up sport.
It’s not just about the on field action, the club are actively involved in local & national campaigns to combat homophobia and promote LGBTQIA+ inclusivity in sport.
